COMMISSIONING OF MALE AND FEMALE WARDS AT ABOASO AND KENYAS

On November 28, 2024, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Opoku Agyemang Bonsu, together with Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, Member of Parliament for Kwabre East and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MOGCSP), in collaboration with the Municipal Health Directorate, officially commissioned newly constructed male and female wards at the health centers in Kenyasi and Aboaso.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Opoku Agyemang Bonsu warmly welcomed all dignitaries, community members, and stakeholders present for the commissioning ceremony. He emphasized that the construction of these male and female wards was undertaken as part of the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible, high-quality medical services for all.

He further stated that this project is a significant milestone in the government’s continuous efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in the municipality. According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, under the leadership of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, remains dedicated to the provision of sustainable infrastructure that promotes efficient healthcare service delivery across Ghana.

Hon. Bonsu highlighted that the commissioning of these health facilities is not just an achievement for the municipality but a testament to the government’s vision of providing modern, well-equipped medical centers to cater to the healthcare needs of Ghanaians. He acknowledged the collective effort of various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, the Ghana Health Service, and local authorities, in making this project a reality.

He further urged healthcare professionals stationed at the newly commissioned wards to uphold high standards of service, maintain the facility properly, and ensure that the people of Kenyasi and Aboaso receive the best possible healthcare services. He reassured the community that the government would continue investing in healthcare infrastructure to improve the quality of life for all citizens.

The event concluded with a tour of the new facilities, during which attendees had the opportunity to inspect the wards, medical equipment, and other amenities aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery in the municipality.
