DISTRIBUTION OF METAL DUAL DESKS TO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE MUNICIPALITY
The Municipal Chief Executive of Kwabre East, Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu on Friday, 5th March, 2021 handed over one hundred and eighty (180) metal dual desks to the Municipal Education Directorate to be distributed to eight (8) Junior High Schools in the Municipality to boost education system.
Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu during the presentation explained that, the local government as part of its initiatives to support the educational sector have provided desks to various schools across the country of which Kwabre East Municipal has also benefitted from it. He said the Municipal Assembly have distributed so many desks to schools in the Municipality. He explained that since schools have resumed from the COVID-19 break, the Municipal Assembly under the local government have decided to give out 180 dual desks to 8 schools to enable the junior high school students get desks to sit on to feel comfortable while learning and make teaching and learning effective.
Hon. Asibey further explained that one thousand (1,000) pieces of dual desks have been contracted to someone and they are yet to be completed and he assured the educational directorate that, when the desks are ready they will be distributed to schools in the Municipality.
Mrs. Dora Asare, Acting Municipal Director of Education for Kwabre East Education Directorate expressed her gratitude to local government and the Municipal Chief Executive for their support to the education directorate by providing the dual desks to be distributed to the various schools in the Municipality which will go a long way to make learning and teaching effective.
Schools that benefitted from the 180 dual metal desks distribution and the number of desks they received were; Meduma M/A J.H.S received twenty five (25) desks, Abira R/C J.H.S received twenty five (25) desks, Mamponteng M/A J.H.S. “B” received twenty five (25) desks, Kenyasi SDA Model School received twenty five (25) desks, Ahwiaa M/A Experimental J.H.S “A” received twenty five (25) desks, Kasaam Methodist J.H.S received twenty five (25) desks, St. Agartha M/A J.H.S received fifteen (15) desks, and Bosore M/A J.H.S also received fifteen (15) desks.
