MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE (MCE) COMMISSIONED THREE (3) PROJECTS.
The Kwabre East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu and the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah has jointly commissioned three (3) projects in the Kwabre East Municipality, on Tuesday, 20th October 2020. i.e., Teachers Bungalow at Amanpe, Doctors Bungalow at Asonomaso and Municipal Staff Quarters at Mamponteng.
A short ceremony was conducted for the commissioning of 1 No 3 unit, 2 Bedroom Teachers Quarters with kitchen, toilet and bath. The Project Engineer, Dynamic Engineers and Construction at the ceremony handed over the keys to the Municipal Chief Executive and took Management round the Quarters to show them the flat. The project was financed by District Development Facility (DDF) costing GH₵ 320.000.00.
Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly thanked the Member of Parliament of the Constituency for her continuous support to the constituency and its indigenes.
He explained to the gathering how the project needed immediate attention and how quick the Member of Parliament and the Government have come to their aid. He explained that, the project which is a three (3) flat bungalow, 1 No 3- unit, 2 Bedroom bungalow will accommodate some number of teachers on the school’s premises to supervise the activities of the school very well.
He emphasized on the massive infrastructural development in six (6) Senior High Schools in the Municipal Assembly with the aim of reducing or curbing the double track system in the Constituency.
He also commented on two (2) factories under the one district one factory project that are underway in the Kwabre East Municipal which will reduce the rate of unemployment in the constituency. He further encouraged the gathering to promote and ensure peace in the coming December General Elections because ensuring peace in the country is our responsibility.
The Ag. Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Dora Asare emphasized on the need for education for everybody in the country. She commended the Member of Parliament for the Kwabre East Constituency and the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly for constructing such project to accommodate the teachers at Amanpe M/A Primary School. She also advised on the need to practice maintenance culture to keep the bungalow in good shape.
The Assembly Member of Baamang Electoral Area, Hon. Abeyie Solomon expressed his profound gratitude to the Member of Parliament of the constituency, the Municipal Chief Executive and the entire Municipal Assembly for the teachers’ bungalow. He further said that, the Member of Parliament will be victorious in the coming elections looking at the good works she is doing for the Constituency.
The Queen mother of Amanpe Traditional Area, Oheneyere Fremah Konadu assured the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Assembly to take very good care of the Teachers’ Bungalow and also expressed her profound gratitude on behalf of the traditional council. She further appealed to the Member of Parliament to help construct their bad road networks.
Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah expressed her gratitude to Oheneyere Fremah Konadu for supporting her throughout the construction of the project. She encouraged the practice of maintenance culture. She also told the gathering about the passion that the President of Ghana has for Education.
She used the platform to highlight some of the projects by the Government of Ghana such as:
- Planting for Food and Jobs.
- One Constituency, One Ambulance.
- One District, One Factory, of which Kwabre East has benefitted by getting two (2) factories.
She talked about eight (8) roads being constructed within a period of three (3) years. Also construction is underway for two (2) astroturf at Ahwiaa and Mamponteng which will boost sporting activities in the Constituency.
Nananom, The Medical Superintendent, Staff of the hospital, the People of Asonomaso, among others welcomed the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu,
Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah and the Management of the Assembly with a short ceremony to Commissioned the Project.
The Assembly Member of Asonomaso, Hon. Kwadwo Appiah expressed his gratitude to the Member of Parliament for his relentless support to members of the Asonamaso community especially with the construction of the doctors’ bungalow for doctors at Asonomaso Government Hospital.
The Medical Superintendent in charge of Asonomaso Government Hospital Dr. Imrana Mahama on behalf of the entire staff of the hospital expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Assembly and the Member of Parliament for such project. He said that, the doctors’ bungalow was one of the major challenges of the hospital and they were very grateful that this plea had been resolved. He further pleaded with the Assembly and Member of Parliament to help construct an administration block for the hospital to boost the effective and efficient running of the hospital.
Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu commended the doctors and nurses at Asonomaso Government Hospital for their hard work and dedication in this pandemic season. He told the gathering that upgrading the hospital was one of his priority and therefore petition had been sent to government and looking forward to a positive response. He said that other projects were under construction and they were yet to be commissioned, citing the Kasaam CHPS compound as one of them.
He also enlightened the gathering on the achievements under the health service in the Kwabre East Municipal, emphasizing on the resourcing of the Mamponteng Polyclinic and construction of female wards at Aboaso Hospital. He advised all those present to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols.
Hon. Fransisca Oteng Mensah encouraged the staff of Asonomaso Government Hospital to practice maintenance culture in order to maintain the bungalow to keep it in good shape. She promised her continuous support for Asonomaso community.
She also outlined some achievements under the Kwabre East Municipal Health Sector as well and called for support from the members of Asonomaso Community to rally with her and give more opportunities to bring more development to the Kwabre East Constituency.
The project was financed by District Development Facility (DDF) and constructed by “Be a Leader Enterprise” costing GH₵ 240.000.00.
A standing Ceremony was observed which the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Asibey Bonsu expressed his profound gratitude to the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo
Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah for the project. He explained that the bungalow would be very beneficial to the assembly because it would help cut down cost that was spent on staffs who normally came on transfer.
He advised members of the Assembly to practice maintenance culture in order to make the place very conducive for living. He also commended the Municipal engineer for a great work done.
Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah commended the Assembly for supporting her vision and she assured the Assembly of her continuous support. She also added up and encouraged the staff of the Municipal Assembly to practice maintenance culture.
Some staff members of the Municipal Assembly expressed their gratitude and excitement to the Member of Parliament for constructing the Staff Quarters.
Internally Generated Funds (IGF) was used to finance the project that cost GH₵ 290.000.00 and was done by “Big Tony Adams Company Limed”.
The programs were very successful with all the COVID-19 protocols strictly observed. Participants expressed their excitement and gratitude.

Osika, Women Organizer of NPP Kwabre East Constituency and other Stakeholders.
