THE SOD CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE DUMANAFO CHPS COMPOUND PROJECT IN THE KWABRE EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ON THE 28TH JANUARY, 2026.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Kwabre East Municipality, Hon. Joseph Amankwah, on Tuesday, 28th January 2026, officially cut the sod for the construction of a community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at Dumanafo. The project comprises a fully equipped CHPS compound, nurses’ quarters, and a mechanized borehole to provide a reliable supply of potable water. The project is being implemented by the Municipal Works Department in collaboration with Prudent Link Limited, with the contractor given a six (6) month completion period.
In his address, Hon. Joseph Amankwah stated that the project forms part of the government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery and improving living and working conditions for health personnel. He emphasized that the inclusion of nurses’ quarters and a mechanized borehole will enhance staff accommodation, promote retention of health workers, and ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for the people of Dumanafo and surrounding communities.
The Chief of Dumanafo, Nana Owusu Kwarteng, expressed his deep appreciation to the NDC government and the Municipal Chief Executive for responding to the healthcare needs of the community. He noted that residents had to travel to Mamponteng to access medical services under challenging conditions. He described the project as timely and impactful, and assured the Assembly and the contractor of the community’s full support to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
The Dumanafo CHPS Compound Project represents a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure within the Kwabre East Municipality. Upon completion, the facility—together with the nurses’ quarters and mechanized borehole—will significantly improve access to primary healthcare, enhance service delivery, and contribute to improved health outcomes for residents. The timely completion of the project will bring lasting relief and sustainable development to the people of Dumanafo.
