KWABRE EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ORGANIZED SCHOLARSHIP INTERVIEW FOR 2021/2022 APPLICANTS

The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat was established in 1960 as an extra-ministerial body under the office of the President mandated to administer all government scholarships. The Secretariat is mandated to handle and award government scholarships to qualified applicants for human resource development and growth in the country.

The Secretariat as part of its mandate organized a two (2) day interview for 2021/2022 applicants across the country which began on Thursday, 21st January to Friday 22nd January, 2021.  A panel of three (3) members comprising of a representative each from the Municipal Chief Executive, a Chief and the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency and was hosted by Kwabre East Municipal Assembly for three Municipalities comprising, Kwabre East, Old Tafo and Afigya-Sekyere South at the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly hall, Mamponteng.

Hon. Nana Osei Assibey Bonsu, Municipal Chief Executive of Kwabre East Municipal Assembly welcomed applicants present and told them to ensure they adhere strictly to all the COVID-19 protocols and also be courageous as they face the panelist to provide right answers to whatever question they will be asked.

Mr. Setor Yaw Adanuvor, National Coordinator (District Level Scholarship Scheme) was present to monitor the exercise. He told the applicants that, the secretariat will award scholarships to applicants based on their performance so they should not to be scared but feel relaxed and provide accurate answers to questions they will be asked.

A total number of Three hundred and twenty-nine applicants (329) were engaged in the interview of which One hundred and Thirty- Eight (138) were interviewed on the first day while One hundred and Ninety-One applicants were interviewed on the second day with three (3) panelists representing the Kwabre East Municipal, namely; Mr. Evans Kwakye, Representative of the Member of Parliament, Mr. Francis Afful, Representative of the Municipal Chief Executive, and Nana Osei Bonsu, Traditional Authority. The Applicants were very ready and anticipating for positive outcome after the interview.
