KWABRE EAST TRADITIONAL DAY CELEBRATION.
The second edition of Kwabre Traditional Day took place as scheduled on June 28, 2024, across various schools and workplaces. This year’s edition saw significant improvements compared to last year, with schools organizing activities to commemorate the day.
Mr. Stephen Anderson, the Municipal Culture Officer, visited several schools in the municipality, including Mamponteng R/C JHS, Bempenase JHS, and Mary Afriyie JHS, where students showcased their rich cultural heritage. Activities performed by the students included traditional dances in their beautiful traditional attire, as well as the preparation of various traditional dishes.
Speaking to students at Mary Afriyie JHS, Mr. Anderson emphasized that the essence of Cultural Day was to remind students, Ghanaians, and the world that Africa, particularly Ghana, has a rich cultural and traditional heritage. He stressed the importance of students developing a deep understanding of their culture and traditions.
In an interview with the media, Hon. Opoku Agyemang Bonsu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), expressed his delight at how both workers and students embraced the celebration. He promised to invest more in the program to make it even more attractive in the coming years and invited all stakeholders to join in future celebrations.
