PRESIDENT VISIT MAMPONTENGHENE AT HIS PALACE

The president of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo has paid a courtesy call on the chief of Mamponteng on Thursday 10th October, 2019. The visit forms part of his 3 days tour of the Ashanti region to commission and also cut sod for project initiated by his government.
In his address the chief of Mamponteng, Nana Saase Ayeboafo II stated his support for the government initiative and policies on education, reviving and building of factories and other projects plan towards the improvement of the economy and the creation of jobs in the country. Nana Ayeboafo II applauded the president for the initiation and implementation of the free Senior High School Policy. Nana Ayeboafo II stated that the heritage fund should be used to fund the free SHS policy which will rather secure the future of the younger generation through skill and cognitive training to make them entrepreneurs and employable citizens in the country.
Nana Saase Ayeboafo II also presented a petition on the completion of the Mamponteng market. He added that the construction of the market has stalled for the past six years leading to trader trading under a tension pylon which also poses many health risks. He said generation of revenue and reliance on central government subventions will be greatly reduced, if a completed market can generate enough revenue for the assembly to carry out many developmental projects to improve standard of living.
Nana Ayeboafo II later presented a petition to the government on development issues facing Mamponteng and Kwabre east municipality.
H.E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo expressed his gratitude to nana Mampontenghene for receiving him and his entourage. He said a contractor has been sent to assess and estimate the cost of the market and will be under construction soon. He added that his government has provided about 600 vehicles for the Ghana Police Service to enhance their delivery of service nationwide and still awaiting 400 more of which Mamponteng and Kenyase police stations will not be left out.
President Akuffo Addo talked on a wide range of issues and assured Mampontenghene of his government support and readiness to meet the needs of the citizenry. The president asked for the chief’s support and citizenry’s patience as the government rolls out good policies and programs to improve the lives of all country men.
