REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL SIGNAL BUREAU PAID VISITS TO KWABRE EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

On the 6th September 2022, a three members from the regional office bureau of National signal bureau (NSB) paid a visit to the assembly. They include Mr. O.K Agyemang Regional Director for NSB, Col (RTD) Kofi Arthur Regional Security Laison and Mr. Sunam Pele OIC Officer. The purpose of their visit was to educate the Staff about National Security framework for countering Violent Extremism and Terrorism in Ghana.

In the opening remark Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Opoku Agyemang Bonsu express his profound gratitude, to the officer for choosing our municipality to educate the staff about security measures on how to deal with violent and extremism in Ghana.

During the presentation Col (RTD) Kofi Arthur cited that the number on terrorist and extremist groups including; Boko Haram, Al-Qaedain the Islamic Maghreb ( AQIM the lord’s resistance army (LRA) and Al-Shabaab, whose activities pose serious danger to the state security. The commandment stressed that, the incidence to terrorist attack in West Africa, demonstrate the extent to which extremism groups are mutating into terrorist groups and undermining the traditional integrity and stability of the state in West Africa.

He expressed optimism that, the caliber of resource persons assembled for this workshop would be a key in finding solutions to the challenges of violent extremism. RTD Kofi Arthur urged the participants to engage in robust discussing with the resource persons so as to contribute to finding practical and lasting solution to approach in addressing the threat of violent.
